Dr. Hamid R. Abbasi is board-certified with the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Abbasi has trained in prestigious institutions like Stanford University, Dartmouth College and MD Anderson. He is an expert in brain and spine disease and a leading surgeon in the minimally invasive treatment of the spine. Dr. Abbasi is among a few surgeons with the highest number of revolutionary OLLIF procedures performed.
Dr. Abbasi is one of a few surgeons with the largest experience in minimally invasive spine surgery including minimally invasive correction of deformities and scoliosis. He manages a vast variety of spine diseases including: surgical pain management, complex spine surgery, trauma and spinal stabilizations, spine and spinal cord tumors, brain tumors, pituitary tumors, brain hemorrhage and none emergent trauma vagal nerve stimulator, peripheral nerve and carpal tunnel.
Dr. Abbasi has a doctorate of medicine and of philosophy from the prestigious and world-famous University of Heidelberg, Germany’s top university. After graduating, he pursued more than 13 years of extensive neurosurgical training at world-famous institutions including the University of Heidelberg, Stanford University, Darmouth College and the University of Texas including training in MD Anderson in Houston. Dr. Abbasi is a leading surgeon in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery and is constantly widening the techniques and ability in this field. He has been actively teaching minimally invasive techniques to other surgeons and currently in process of publishing multiple papers in this field. He is a presenter in and active member of multiple national and international neurosurgery societies.

Dr. Sunny S. Kim’s passion and dedication to correcting spinal problems has led to treating more than 15,000 patients in the last 25 years. Skilled in addressing all types of spinal issues, Dr. Kim’s extensive experience brings unmatched expertise to treating even the most complex cases.
Board certified with both the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgery, Dr. Kim is one of only a few spinal surgeons in the nation who is able to treat complicated spinal deformity cases that require vertebral column resections and pedicle subtraction osteotomies.
A fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon, Dr. Kim averages more than 500 surgical spinal cases each year, in addition to spine injection interventions. Additionally, Dr. Kim frequently performs complex cervical spine surgeries that require a high degree of expertise, including minimally invasive surgeries like XLIF, OLIF, TranS1, Kyphoplasty, SI joint fusion and artificial disc replacement. Dr. Kim is among a select number of surgeons in the U.S. who can take out a thoracic disc herniation via XLIF in a minimally invasive manner.
Dr. Kim’s medical education began at the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago, one of the top medical schools in the United States. After graduation, he pursued an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the prestigious Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. Later, Dr. Kim became a Spine Surgery Fellow at Minnesota Spine Center, a fellowship program recognized as one of the very best in the country.
